“No one should laugh at astrology, for he who no longer seeks to seduce the stars is the sadder for it,” wrote Baudrillard. In this generative convo / workshop, we will look at the work of ancient and contemporary thinkers who seduced/got seduced by the cosmos — as well as some of the foundational texts that serve as a stellar gateway into the heavenly spheres and poetic situation. We’ll discuss astrology as a language and metaphysical/poetic apparatus for engaging with our own work and the wor(l)d. The packet of multi-disciplinary work will include readings from Marcus Manilius, The Hermetica, astrological natal charts, ancient alchemical imagery, and contemporary poets.
